Important Information

INDIVIDUALS

All individual volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background check here. 

VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN

Those working with children must pass drug screening and participate in the online Safe Sanctuaries training PowerPoint download from our secure server here.

SCHOOL & CHURCH GROUPS

School and church youth groups may volunteer when accompanied by an approved adult volunteer.

Ministry Program Opportunities

  • Opportunities:

    • One-on-one reading and math tutoring after school between 3-5 p.m.

    • Help with STEAM projects and other group activities

    • Collect items on the MPA wish and supply list

  • Opportunities:

    • Hospitality – Help set up the room for Tuesday evenings (ODCH) or Wednesday evenings (St Mary’s UMC) weekly meeting

    • Be a greeter at weekly meetings

  • Opportunities:

    • Provide a birthday cake once a month or once a quarter to celebrate the ladies’ birthdays during that timeframe.

Special Events & Opportunities

  • Opportunities:

    • Help with registration

    • Act as if you are a representative of agencies & businesses

    • Collect specific toys or gift cards to purchase toys

    • Wrap gifts at the wrapping station

    • Provide, plant, and help maintain the front entrance flower pots.

    • Provide a snack for staff.

    • Help with filing or stuffing envelopes at certain times of the year.
